As a living material, wood can positively influence the humidity in the room during the year (heating periods) by absorbing or releasing moisture. This means that a parquet floor not only looks good, it is also healthy. During this balancing process the wood expands or shrinks slightly. In order to prevent this from causing cracks, the parquet is built up of three layers running against each other, which make it absolutely stable. A parquet floor looks noble and lasts - with the right care - many years. Dust and dry dirt are swept away or vacuumed. Once to four times a month you wipe with a damp mop or cloth (not wet!) with water and wood soap and the floor will last a lifetime. Due to the structuring of the parquet surface, small scratches or stains are hardly noticeable. You have probably heard that parquet floors can be sanded down after years to eliminate stains and cracks. In principle you can do the same with this parquet floor. However, they lose the structure highlighted by the brushing. We therefore recommend basic cleaning with parquet intensive cleaner. The floor must then be resealed by oiling.
