Parador engineered wood flooring is environmentally friendly and healthyDue to the 3-layer construction of the wideplank planks, considerably less oak wood is required than for solid engineered wood. The wood used comes exclusively from sustainable forestry, as documented by the PEFC and FSC seals. A parquet floor is generally good for the climate because it stores CO2.Wood is a living material that expands or shrinks depending on the relative humidity of the room. This is because the wood can absorb and release water vapor. Thus the wood provides a balanced living climate, which is beneficial to health. With solid wood parquet, however, this "working" of the wood can lead to cracks and warping in the long run. This danger hardly exists with Parador engineered wood due to the 3-layer construction. The middle layer and the backing veneer largely compensate for these expansion and shrinkage movements. Accessories for Parador Engineered Wood Flooringskirtings use them to create a clean transition between the engineered wood floor and the wall.Transition profiles and end profiles are required for transitions from one room to another or to cover expansion joints in large areas. Underlays are either vapour barriers, impact sound underlays or a combination of the two. Vapour barriers ensure that no moisture from the subfloor gets into the parquet. You need such a vapour barrier if you want to lay the parquet over underfloor heating or on a mineral subfloor (screed). Impact sound underlays are especially important when the parquet is laid in a floating manner. They dampen the impact sound.
