The laminate has a particularly authentic look, as the cracks and knots in the oak wood are not only visible but can also be felt thanks to a special surface embossing technique. So you can enjoy the charm of a robust wooden floor combined with the advantages of laminate. The light colour of the flooring ensures that the rooms still appear light and friendly despite all their robustness.Does the subfloor have to be prepared for the installation of laminate?In order for you to enjoy your new laminate flooring for a long time, the subfloor must meet a number of conditions. Firstly, it must be clean, firm and level. If the subfloor were not firm or if it contained unevenness of more than 3 mm in height, the laminate planks would sag in some places. This would put constant stress on the joints between the individual planks until they finally broke. However, this would then break the secure, water-resistant connection between the planks. You would no longer have a safe walking feeling and water could penetrate the laminate through the gaps that have formed.Secondly, the subfloor must be dry. Particularly with mineral subfloors, you must pay attention to the permissible residual moisture. You will find information on this in the laminate installation instructions. What you should bear in mind whenlaying laminate flooringYou should only start laying laminate flooring when the room temperature is at least 15 °C, or preferably 20 °C. The relative humidity must be between 0.5 °C and 0.5 %. The relative humidity must be between 30% and 65%. Before installation, the laminate needs time to acclimatise to the room climate. In summer it needs 2 days, in winter 3 to 4 days. Lay the unopened packages with the laminate flat on the floor of the room, preferably in the middle. Avoid contact with freshly wallpapered walls. When laying the laminate, take alternating planks from different packages. This will give the floor a more uniform appearance. Leave a gap of approx. 10 mm between the planks and the walls. The resulting gaps will later be covered by the skirting boards. Without expansion joints, you can lay an area of 10 metres in width and length.YImportant properties of this Meister laminate
