Current status - Corona (COVID19) - movement of goods - shipping - etc.
Home Improvement Guide
- Transportation of goods within Germany: no impairments - undisturbed movement of goods within Germany without delays
- Trade of goods between Germany and Europe: affected - There are slight delays at almost all German external borders. Deliveries of goods to/from Europe arrive with a delay of 6 - 72 hours (depending on the country of origin/destination). - The introduction of border controls and the closure of many borders for people is also leading to delays for goods. In principle, the free flow of goods within Europe is still fully guaranteed.
- Vinyl floor delivery situation: Largely relaxed. Vinyl floors are occasionally affected by production/delivery bottlenecks. The first decors for design floors and vinyl floors are no longer available from individual producers.
- Delivery situation for parquet floors: Parquet floors are currently not affected by production/delivery bottlenecks.
- Delivery situation for laminate flooring: Laminate flooring is currently not affected by production/delivery bottlenecks.
- Warehouse/shipping Parkettkaiser.de: smoothly - the shipping of goods and samples runs smoothly.
- Showroom in Bremen: Out of consideration for the health of our customers and employees, our showroom in Bremen is temporarily closed. We have strengthened our sample shipping colleagues in order to be able to provide all our customers and interested parties with samples within 48 hours.
Assessment of the situation (also for the near future):
- Despite the Corona virus, goods logistics work problems. Our experience from Italy shows that goods logistics works consistently there - including in Lombardy and Venti. For Germany we do not expect any disruptions to the flow of goods.
- Internationally there are slight delays in goods logistics due to the introduction of border controls and closures for passenger traffic.
Assessment of the delivery/production situation in the next few weeks:
- 90% of laminate comes from Germany. - We do not expect any problems with production and delivery capability.
- There will be shortages of parquet flooring. It depends very much on the manufacturer. Parquet manufacturers with primary products from China will be severely affected
Parquet manufacturers who source their raw materials in Europe and produce them here will be not or little affected be.
- classic vinyl floor: The most affected area will be vinyl flooring. Since there is (almost) no vinyl production in Europe, and almost all producers need intermediate products from Asia.
We are assuming severe shortages in delivery capabilities here.
Producers with supply chains from China will be extremely affected and will have great difficulty in the availability of your vinyl floors.
Producers with supply chains from South Korea, Taiwan or Malaysia will have significantly better delivery ability. - Goods and shipping traffic from these countries has been normal this year and there have been no disruptions in the container business, as was the case with China.
