This patented acoustic underlay is an impact sound insulation with integrated vapour barrier, which has been specially wrapped for use under hard floor coverings such as parquet and laminate. It is supplied as easy to install roll goods.

The Wineo soundPROTECT Profi SD acoustic insulating underlay consists of a PET carrier layer to which a polyurethane heavy layer is applied. This consists of mineral fillers and polyurethane binders. A white fleece is laminated onto the back of the heavy layer. A PE vapour brake is also integrated.

Where is this acoustic insulation underlay used?

The soundProtect Profi SD acoustic insulation underlay from Wineo is used for floating installation of parquet or laminate flooring with click system. It is suitable both for use in new buildings and for use in modernizations.

Do you really need an acoustic insulation underlay?

If you want to lay your new parquet or laminate flooring in a floating installation, you will definitely need an acoustic insulation underlay. The rigid floor covering, together with the subfloor and the layer of air between them, forms a resonance chamber that amplifies the impact sound. Impact sound is the part of the sound that is also transmitted to other rooms via the floor. Without an appropriate footfall sound insulation, it would therefore become very loud. However, because of the integrated vapour barrier, you should only use this acoustic insulation underlay on mineral substrates. The vapour barrier prevents moisture from the subfloor from entering the floor covering. If it lies on a wooden floor as a substrate, the wood can no longer release moisture and eventually moulds.

It therefore achieves VOC classification A+ and is awarded the "Blue Angel" as a low-emission product. VOC is the abbreviation for "volatile organic compounds". Only sustainable raw materials are used in the production of this acoustic insulation underlay. These raw materials are not in competition with the cultivation of food. As the insulation underlay consists of 90 % natural materials, it can be disposed of at a landfill or incineration plant without any problems.
